Level 1 Physical Education - Sports Studies
Term 1 & 2 - Are you the ultimate team player? Physical Education aids students to discover and develop their own physical abilities, well-being, leadership, acquire knowledge, skills and an understanding of movement through team sport. There will be a focus on Risk Management in Sports, Hauora/Well-Being and Sporting Skills Performance. This is a highly practical course with two written evaluations and a skills based assessment. Note: Each Period has approximately a 50/50 split Theory vs Practical.

Level 1 Physical Education - Sports Science
Term 3 & 4 - Sports Science studies how the human body works during exercise, and how sport and physical activity can promote and improve well-being while improving sporting performance. There will be a focus on Societal Influences in Physical Activity, Functional Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics and Motor Skill Learning. This is a highly practical course with three written evaluations. Note: Each Period has approximately a 50/50 split Theory vs Practical.
12 credits in total for Terms 3 & 4
This course is: Endorsable (14 Credits at Merit or Excellence for a Subject Endorsement
