Not only will you learn the basics to get you through your education of a lifetime, but the above modules on offer for 2022 will also fulfill your Internal assessment requirements. You will achieve these through portfolios that will be added to throughout the year and will be completed in Term III. There is a possibility of gaining 14 credits internally. These cover writing, a speech presentation, and partaking in conversations in Spanish with your fellow classmates. Another 10 credits can be gained through external examinations in November. Due to being a language, unfortunately, neither Literacy nor Numeracy credits are available.

Pathway

Languages take you to places that you never dreamed of. They open doors to you that are closed to others, simply because you are able to speak more than one language. Languages literally enable you to think differently.
Job roles and career areas you could work in:
The most obvious career opportunities for languages students and graduates are working as interpreters or translators. Careers in the diplomatic service and telecommunications also often require an aptitude for languages.

Language students’ interest often goes beyond a simple desire to understand the language and includes a passion for foreign cultures as well. This could be a great advantage in the business world. Many blue-chip multinational recruiters want employees who have a global outlook and are sensitive to cultural differences.

The following job roles would enable you to draw on the communication and problem-solving skills developed during your studies. Further qualifications or training are likely to be required. Some of these careers would make direct use of your language skills:

charities administrator
commissioning editor
consultant
human resources officer
