Course Description

Mathematics with Calculus CAL 301

This course is recommended for students who wish to study Mathematics at a higher level than NCEA Level 2 and for students who may consider studying some form of Mathematics at a tertiary level. Students will be expected to apply the skills they acquire to contextual problems where they will need to be able to communicate their mathematical knowledge in a logical and sequential manner. Students will study and use trigonometric techniques, rates of change and complex number sets to solve contextual problems. If students wish to have a career in for example economics, a science such as physics, chemistry or medicine, engineering or other related areas this course is essential.
