Level 2 Physical Education

Sports Studies

Term 1 & 2 - Are you the ultimate team player? Physical Education aids students to discover and develop their own physical abilities, well-being, leadership, acquire knowledge, skills and an understanding of movement through team sport. Students to examine the significance for self, others and society of a major national or global sporting event.   This semester is a highly practical course with two written evaluations and a skills-based assessment. 

Sports Science

Term 3 & 4 - Sports Science studies how the human body works during exercise, and how sport and physical activity can promote and improve well-being while improving sporting performance. There will be a focus on designing a 3 Week Training Programme, Functional Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics and Motor Skill Learning. This semester is a highly practical course with two written evaluations. 

   


Sports Management

As part of an inclusive programme, we also offer 5 new Unit Standards in Term 2 and 3.  These offer different challenges, and suit students looking for credits without endorsement opportunities. Students choose to elect into the Stand A or the Stand B course - not both.
