SCI301

Level 2 & Level 3 Combined Sciences

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. Lincoln

This course integrates different Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth & Space) to provide an internally based course at both Level 2 and Level 3. Combined Science can count as a UE subject if 14 Level 3 Science credits are completed over the year. There is also the possibility of looking at some Health standards for those students who are interested.

Over the year a range of topics can be covered depending on the interests of the students. Some of the topics include HPV vaccinations, crumple zones in cars, plastic rubbish in the oceans, emperor penguins in Antarctica, protection of the Ross Sea, nanotechnology, space exploration and New Zealand native species.
