Level 2 Outdoor Education:

He tino ngahau tēnei akoranga. Ko te kaupapa – “Kei te titiro whakamuri ki ō tātou wā o mua, hei āwhina i a tātou e haere ake nei”. Ko ngā Kaiwhakatere o mua, he tāngata māia. Hei aha māu? He kaitiakitanga mō Papatūānuku.

The Outdoor Education Programme at Level 2 provides a full and exciting range of experiences that will challenge the students physically and mentally and provide opportunities for planning and facilitating key aspects of the programme.
Our learning opportunities are based on the Mountainview Whanau-based system – Hiwi, Whenua and Moana. We provide a balanced range of water, land and mountain-based experiences that also incorporate our school values.
The following extended learning opportunities are offered:
White Water Rafting
Skiing and Snowboarding
Tramping; multi-night camping, navigation, cooking, group survival
Mountain Biking on varied terrain
Rock Climbing, Abseiling, and Bouldering
There is a $400 contribution for this course to cover the extended learning opportunities as listed above. Some students may be able to have some financial help with this, see Mr. Martin for more information.
*Other assessment opportunities will be negotiated as time or experience allows to take advantage of however, 23 Credits will be on offer over the whole year. Unit standard based. All internal assessments.
