Level 3 Spanish

13SPA
Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms S. Campbell.

Recommended Prior Learning

It is highly recommended that NCEA Level 2 Spanish course has been taken prior to electing this course due to the high level of grammatical structures and language requirements. Level 3 Spanish builds on nicely from Level 2. The vast majority of structures and vocabulary has been taught/gained in Level 2 and so this course is an extension of that. Also, if you are considering going to university, and are successful at Level 3, you will not be required to take a Year 1 course in Spanish. You will go straight to 200 level papers, saving you a year of study at tertiary level.

Level 3 Spanish

Modules include:   • Getting together with old friends • Traditional and Modern Families • Cyberspace • Rights • Film and Literature • Environmental issues • Spanish History & Culture •

The above modules will be offered in Spanish for 2024. Internal assessment opportunities will be fulfilled through portfolios and will be completed in Term III. A total of 14 internal credits can be gained through this course.  Through external examinations, students can gain 10 credits. Due to being a language, unfortunately, neither Literacy nor Numeracy credits are available.
