Getting Started with Course Selection

The aim of this website is to provide a guide to students in planning their pathways towards further education, training and employment.

It contains a detailed list of courses to be offered at this school, along with a listing of teachers/personnel who can give you guidance with your course selections.

If you do not know what you want to do in your future, do not worry, that is extremely common. Keep your options broad.

Remember: Make your own choices

Things to think about:
  • What are you interested in?
  • What are you good at?
  • What do you enjoy?
  • If you know what you want to do/study when you leave school - what subjects do they suggest?

Who can you talk to for advice?
  • Parents and caregivers
  • Ako Teachers
  • Whānau leaders
  • Your school's careers team

Once you have made your selections:

Initially, your selections will be used to build the school timetable for 2022. Once option selections have been completed and the timetable is complete you will be able to see your timetable and if necessary make some adjustments or confirm your course.

Sometimes you may be required to select a further course or we will have used a backup course. This happens for two reasons. The first is that the courses do not run as there are not enough students selecting the course. The second reason being that two of your subjects end up clashing as they are in the same line. You will get the opportunity to check and confirm your selections before the start of the 2022 year.
